The online gambling jurisdiction of The Isle of Man is ramping things up these days by granting its 7th licensee, this time Asia’s popular Internet sports betting site 12Bet.com.  The jurisdiction has long been known for its stringent requirements in licensing such companies.

12Bet has operated for numerous years, offering betting on 75 football leagues including live events that allow for betting even in the 89th minute.  They are also the sponsor for football clubs Sevilla and Newcastle United.

Commenting on the launch of this new site, Rory Anderson, the Chief Executive Officer of 12Bet Europe said, “12Bet is well-known in the Asian market and we wanted to extend our reach into Europe. We believe the Isle of Man is the perfect platform from which to do this.  The Island is known for its firm but fair regulation of remote gambling. We found the Isle of Man authorities very responsive and helpful throughout the licensing process. 12Bet aims to provide an exciting product range with a competitive pricing structure and we are looking forward to working with partners on the Island and developing our business further.”

Commenting on this latest development,Alex Downie MLC, Department of Economic Development Member with responsibility for e-gaming said, “I am delighted that through close co-operation between the Department of Economic Development, the regulatory body and the private sector, we have been able to attract 12Bet to the Isle of Man. The Isle of Man has built up a world-leading e-Gaming sector and this, coupled with our agile and supportive regulatory and political framework, makes for an attractive proposition to those in the industry looking for a high quality jurisdiction.”

Garth Kimber, Head of e-Gaming Development, Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development commented: “12Bet is the 7th company to go live under an Isle of Man gaming licence in 2010. The addition of 12Bet to our licensees further proves the Island’s ability to respond to the needs of a dynamic and challenging industry. E-Gaming companies coming to the Island can not only expect Governmental support but will also find a framework of support services under one roof; encompassing finance, legal and corporate service provision. We look forward to playing our part in the success story of our latest licensee and are confident that the growth the Isle of Man’s e-Gaming sector is experiencing will continue apace in the months and years ahead.”
