Eagles vs. Lions Odds: Michael Vick to Start
The Eagles vs. Lions odds have been impacted rather dramatically on two fronts. One, backup quarterback Michael Vick is expected to start in Sunday’s game after starting quarterback Kevin Kolb left the field this past weekend with a concussion. Two, Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford got a second opinion on his injured right shoulder and has been ruled out for this Sunday’s game. Shaun Hill will start instead.
The Eagles vs. Lions odds initially opened with Detroit as a +3 ½ home dog. BetUS.com had the Lions at +6 as of Friday afternoon but some books were moving all the way to +7.
Vick’s play nearly resulted in a comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers at home after he completed 16 of 24 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown, and scrambled for 103 yards.
"I had the old feel back," Vick said Sunday.
"I still feel like I can play at a high level," Vick said. "I feel like if I had been out there for four quarters, maybe we would have had a chance to win the game. I feel like I'm like 25 or 26 again, even though that's not the case."
Meanwhile, the Lions organization on Friday was petitioning the NFL to review the rule that made Calvin Johnson’s apparent game winning touchdown Sunday against the Chicago Bears an incompletion.
“It was a touchdown,” said Bill Ford, the team’s vice chaiman, according to the Detroit Free Press. “I saw it. You saw it.”
And the commentators agreed.
