FAU was coming in as the -2.5 favorite against Northwestern for their first round game of the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.  Florida Atlantic you will recall enjoyed a Cinderella run in 2023.  Florida Atlantic (25-8) received an at-large bid after falling to Temple, a team under intense scrutiny for suspicious betting patterns this season, 74-73 in the AAC semifinals Saturday night.  We have all your game and player prop bets for Northwestern vs. FAU highlighted below.

"We knew that we were going to have a number of challenges this season after last year, and a lot of times, teams aren't able to knock the wall down and keep going," Florida Atlantic head coach Dusty May said. "It just shows the character, the substance, the work ethic of our guys to stay together, despite every loss feeling like we were letting people down and we were falling short of expectations. It's more of just a credit to their resolve and the determination and who they are as people."

Johnell Davis recorded 18 points (8-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists over 33 minutes during Friday's 77-71 victory over North Texas ahead of the Big Dance.  He's listed with a score total of 17.5 Over/Under for this game. His rebound total is set at 5.5 as is teammate Alijah Martin.

Northwestern is back in the tournament for a second straight trip to March Madness.  The program had snapped 77-year drought by finally making its first NCAA Tournament in 2017.

The Wildcats Boo Buie comes in with the highest Over/Under score total for Friday's tournament game (20.5). Buie closed with 29 points (9-15 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, three assists and three steals across 37 minutes during Friday's 70-61 loss to Wisconsin.  His rebound total comes in at 7.5.

Brooks Barnhizer notched 13 points (3-15 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists and one block in 40 minutes in the loss to the Badgers finishing the 2023-24 season ahead of the Big Dance. He comes into this game with a 14.5 scoring total Over/Under.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
