Oakland Golden Grizzlies vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack Betting Preview

Oakland comes into their 2nd round game of the 2024 NCAA Men's Tournament as an instant Cinderella having knocked off mighty Kentucky.

"I have not been asleep yet," head coach Greg Kampe said Friday. "I have not been to bed and I have not been -- I've not stopped talking. I like to talk, I talk a lot, but it's getting ridiculous. Every 15 minutes I've got a Zoom or something. But it's really cool and it's great for Oakland.

"This is unbelievable for our university, the amount of publicity and because our kids are such great kids, it's positive publicity."

The Golden Grizzlies will enter Saturday's game as a +6.5 dog against NC State.

"It's definitely been crazy," said Oakland star Jack Gohlke, who had a near record ten 3-pointers against Kentucky.  "When I finally did open my phone, it was overwhelming, to say the least, which I definitely appreciate all the support of all the people sending me messages and things like that."

Gohlke would go on to finish the night with 34 points.  His score total against NC State is set at 13.5.

Trey Townsend had 17 points for the Horizon League champions. DQ Cole added 12.

Townsend will come into Saturday's game with a score total set at 16.5. Cole comes in with a score total Over/Under of 11.5.

The NC State Wolfpack beat Texas Tech Thursday night 80-67 helped along by Ben Middlebrooks career high 21 points.

While there were no prop bets available for Middlebrooks as of late Friday, Mohamed Diarra was listed with a rebound total of 10.5.

Diarra has been fasting as he observes the holy month of Ramadan.

“It’s not that hard, I’ve got experience, I’ve been doing it since I was 12 years old,” said Diarra. “I’ve played sports all my life and playing with no food in my stomach is just a mindset.”

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
