Odds for Pujols to 700 and Nats' Starting Pitcher Streak

History is being made in Major League Baseball at the moment and our good friends at SportsBetting.ag are jumping all over it.

The first, and most talked about, is Albert Pujols' chase to 700 career home runs. Pujols currently has 693 lifetime bombs, and he has 39 games remaining before retirement.

Pujols is trying to become just the fourth member of the 700 Club, joining Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755) and Babe Ruth (714), but the odds strongly suggest he won't make it.

The bad news for the books and fans alike is that Pujols probably won't be around after this season.

"I'm still going to retire, no matter whether I end up hitting 693, 696, 700, whatever," Pujols told USA Today recently. "I don't get caught up in numbers. If you were going to tell me 22 years ago that I would be this close, I would have told you that you're freakin' crazy. My career has been amazing."

SportsBetting.ag set odds for Pujols reaching 700.

They are also offering odds on which Nationals pitcher will break the team's current historical streak, which is not one for celebrating.

The Nats haven't had a starting pitcher credited with a victory in 40 consecutive games, the longest winless stretch in the league's history spanning more than 120 years.  OUCH!!!
