USA was a favorite to win gold at this year’s Summer Olympics but instead made a shock exit Friday after being upset by Sweden.
The Swedes were practically a 9-1 underdog to win against mighty USA.
“Hope Solo's shameless post-game comments are an embarrassment to the USWNT,” the headlines screamed on Friday evening following the loss.
Following a 1-1 draw and subsequent penalty shootout loss Solo called Sweden “cowards” and claimed that the “best team did not win.”
Solo had been heavily criticized via Twitter for her performance much of the week.
