Michael Phelps vs. Ryan Lochte London Olympics Betting Odds
One of the great rivalries at this year’s London Olympics will be good friends Michael Phelps vs. Ryan Lochte with betting odds favoring the later at the 400m Individual Medley.
Bookmaker had Lochte as the -165 favorite and Phelps at +115. Phelps would pay out $11.50 for every $10 bet while Lochte would require a $16.50 bet to win $10 (the $16.50 is refunded only if Lochte wins). Gambling911.com should note that most of the action is coming in on Phelps as of Friday.
The two Americans will square off not once, but twice, in the 200 and 400m individual medleys.
"This is going to be a special race," said Gregg Troy, the head coach of the U.S. men's team. "I can't imagine a better way to promote our sport than a race like this on the first day."
Also be sure to keep your eyes on Sun Yang as the -125 favorite to win the men's 400 Metres Freestyle. If he does, he will become the first Chinese man to win an Olympic swimming gold medal. South Korean swimmer Park Tae Hwan is his closest rival at +125 odds. Both men were getting around 20 percent of the betting action each early on, according to Bookmaker.
