Mutaz Essa Barshim is the co-favorite to win the Rio Olympics Men’s High Jump at just shy of 2-1 odds. Bohdan Bondarenko was coming in at exactly 2-1 odds. Derek Drouin had short odds of +350 for a potential $35 payout on a $10 bet.
Barshim , a Qatari track and field athlete, specializes in the high jump and is the national record and Asian record holder with a best mark of 2.43 m.
Bondarenko is a Ukrainian high jumper. His personal best jump is 2.42 metres- a European record – set in New York, on 14 June 2014 at the stage of the 2014 IAAF Diamond League.
Drouin is hoping to win gold for Canada.
Only six men in history have gone higher than Drouin’s record 7 feet, 10.5 inches, two of them being Barshim and Bondarenko.
