Come October 2018, the gaming industry will be celebrating the EGR Operator Awards, the most prestigious in the sector. The award seeks to honour excellence in different categories in the gaming industry such as game of the year, rising star and lottery operator, among others. Thirty categories exist so far. The Operator of the Year is the most desirable honour of the EGR Awards, which is decided by looking at multiple factors of a casino. The quality of services that an operator gives its customers, the security of transactions and gaming options are only a few of the deciding elements. EGR focuses on aspects such as the use of technology, marketing prowess and social responsibility of a particular gaming operator.

2018 Predictions

The shortlist for the 2018 EGR Operator Award nominations are not out yet, but a look at some of the issues that can take centre stage offers a bit of insight. Consumer protection remains a focal point in the online casino business. Operators who have improved their security offerings and adherence to regulations have better chances of making the top of the list.

2017 EGR Operator Awards

Lasts year's Operator Awards were held on 26th October with over 800 professionals from different fields of the e-gaming sector joining the celebrations. Bet365 took the top honour with its Operator of the Year Award, beating competition from LeoVegas, The Stars Group, Lottoland, Pinnacle, Ladbrokes Coral, Mr Green and Sky Betting & Gaming. The judges called Bet365's overall performance 'truly phenomenal' as it balanced all critical areas of business better than any other operators. PlayOJO clinched the Rising Star Award that was backed by its spike in player acquisition, customer-focused vision and 'attractive marketing returns'. Tombola won 2017's Bingo Operator and the Socially Responsible Operator Award, which it has taken home several times. The casino operator convinced the judges it deserved the win with its creativity when it comes to staying socially conscious when marketing to customers.

2018's installment of the EGR Operator Awards takes place on 25 October at the Grosvenor House, London.
