NetEnt’s New Slot In 2018 - Narcos

Hit TV show Narcos took Netflix by storm in 2016 and 2017 and became one the most watched show in its history when 27.2 million people tuned in to watch season 3 in its first week.

It’s only natural, then, that slot software heavyweight NetEnt would be the first to produce a video slot based on it. The Swedish software firm announced that it signed a deal with Gaumont, the studio which produced Narcos, in February of 2018.

Narcos Slot Release Date

While it hasn’t given an exact release date yet in official form, speculation abounds across internet gambling forums and sites that it will come online around the end of 2018, and a recent trailer seemed to confirm that suspicion. It aims to coincide with the release of Naroc season 4 ‘Mexico’, which is due to hit Netflix in November, according to the official trailer.

There are currently no official images or screenshots, and none have been leaked thus far. However, given that the theme is South American drugs lords, it’s probably easy enough to guess what the theme might be like.

Who is NetEnt?

NetEnt is one of the biggest casino games providers in the world. It has been a force in the industry since 1996 and has produced many other branded slots like Terminator II, Jumanji, and Aliens, among others. Finnish casino players, for example, have access to websites where they can choose a casino that best fits their needs to play the games at. And most of the casinos that are chosen are the ones that have a high number of NetEnt slots.

Gaumont bigwig Tim Stephen had this to say regarding the choice to allow NetEnt to develop the slot:

“NetEnt is a world-leading provider of premier online gaming solutions, and we trust them to develop and create a gaming property that will thrill the millions of Narcos fans around the world” – Tim Stephen, Head of Legal and Business Affairs at Gaumont.

More About Narcos

Narcos is a Netflix original TV series based loosely on the real-life activities of several of Colombia’s most infamous drug cartels including The Medellin Cartel headed by Pablo Escobar and the Cali Cartel headed by the Rodriguez brothers.

There have been three seasons so far, all set in Colombia, with the fourth season due to be released in 2018, this time set in Mexico. It will follow the story of the Guadalajara cartel and its infamous leader Felix Gallardo.

Narcos Slot Sneak Preview

While no game screenshots have been released and NetEnt is being tight-lipped regarding the game’s features and jackpot, the following image has been released:

Yikes! If that image is anything to go by, we can be sure the game will stay true to the violent theme of the show.
