Padres-Yankees Betting Action May 27

The New York Yankees were the big consensus play Saturday at -140 with the line now -165 at many books.

Action was around 80% backing the Yankees, therefore the line moving up 25 points makes sense.

The line was still registering a bit on the "sucker" scale even at -165 for the Yankees at home against a Padres team that is just 24-27.

Luis Severino will be starting for the Yankees.  He owns a 1.93 ERA.

Michael Wacha comes into this game 5-1 for San Diego.  He has an ERA of 3.58.  His start pretty much eliminates any perception of a "sucker" line.

Keep in mind that New York Yankees career statistics vs. Michael Wacha is .298 (36 for 121 at bats) and Anthony Rizzo is 21 for 53 with 3 home runs against Wacha.

Wacha was outstanding in Sunday's victory over the Red Sox, scattering five hits and a walk over six scoreless innings.  But he has won in his last three starts and is due for a bad outing here, especially with some of the difficulties he's had against Yankees batters in the past.

San Diego Padres career statistics vs. Luis Severino are .180 with 50 at bats but only three players have gone up against him.

Yankees will be desperate for a win here as they have lost three straight games.

The Yankees are 6-1 in their last 7 interleague games vs. a right-handed starter.

Do take the Yankees here at -155.
