Payout Odds Best Actress 2023 Oscars: Michelle Yeoh vs. Cate Blanchett

Michelle Yeoh appears to be gaining momentum over Cate Blanchett in recent days for the Best Actress nod at this year's Oscars.  BetUS now had Yeoh as the -160 favorite compared to Blanchett at -110.  This is one of the most competitive categories at this year's awards show.

Rot     95th Academy Awards - Best Actress     Moneyline
231     Cate Blanchett - TAR         -110
232     Michelle Yeoh - Everything Everywhere all at Once         -160
234     Michelle Williams - The Fablemans         +2800
238     Ana de Armas - Blonde         +4000
246     Andrea Riseborough - To Leslie         +2200

Yeoh rose to fame in the 1990s after starring in a series of Hong Kong action films where she performed her own stunts.

She gained international recognition for her roles in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and in Ang Lee's martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000).

The film review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes even ranked her the greatest action heroine of all time in 2008.

Amazingly, Yeoh has become the first Asian Best Actress Oscar nominee ever, another reason we could see a win here.

Blanchett has been an awards darling in years past.

She has already amassed two Academy Awards, four British Academy Film Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for a Tony Award and two Primetime Emmy Awards.

Blanchett is only the third female actor, after Meryl Streep and Jessica Lange, to win Best Actress after winning Best Supporting Actress.  She won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "The Aviator" and Best Actress for "Blue Jasmine".
