Giannis Antetokounmpo is the odds-on favorite to be named 2024 NBA All Star Game MVP but not by a whole lot.  Giannis pays $550 on a $100 bet.

Giannis Antetokounmpo shot 15-of-17 from the field and 5-of-9 from the foul line in Thursday’s 113-110 loss to the Grizzlies, amassing 35 points, four rebounds, and 12 assists in 36 minutes.   But this performance comes just two days removed from being blown out at home by the Miami Heat.

Boston Celtics Jayson Tatum had the next shortest odds of being named NBA All Star MVP with a payout potential of $500 for every $100 bet.

Tatum is heading to his fifth straight NBA All-Star Game, but it never gets old.

"It means the world. I never get used to it, I never want to take it for granted," he told reporters in Miami after leading the Celtics to a 143-110 trouncing of the Heat. "As a kid it was my dream. I watched All-Star Weekend every year growing up and dreamed about one day being in that game. So to be voted in as a starter, fifth straight year in the game, it doesn't seem real at times."

Tatum shot 14-of-26 from the field and 8-of-8 from the foul line in Tuesday’s 118-110 win over Brooklyn, accumulating 41 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block, and five 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

Other single odds entries to be named MVP included Lebron James (pays $700), Kevin Durant (pays $800) and Damian Lillard (pays $900).

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
