Penn State is a rare +6.5 to +7 dog here with most books holding at +7 throughout the week. This one is right on the money as we get 6.5 exactly after a review of the power ratings and tacking on home field advantage for Michigan. There is some indication that Michigan could win this game by 6 points, falling short of the cover.
This promises to be among the most anticipated games of the season thus far.
"Big, big, big game," the Wolverines coach said during his Monday press conference. "If anybody was watching football yesterday on television, the pro games, seems like every commercial break there was an advertisement for the Michigan-Penn State game.
"So if anybody wasn't realizing that this was a big game, there were constant reminders yesterday."
Michigan (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) is coming off a 31-10 road victory over Indiana.
"If you are going to reach the promised land, you need those unique games where the team has showed what it's capable of doing," Harbaugh said. "Defining moments in the second half of a ballgame.
"There's a lot to keep us humble and things that we have to improve on. But it did also give us a glimpse of what we can do."
Nittany Lions quarterback Sean Clifford passed for 205 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 45 yards in last season's meeting versus the Wolverines. He has completed 62 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and only two interceptions this season.
He passed for just 140 yards against Northwestern last Saturday as the defense carried the team to a 17-7 victory.
