Zack Wheeler vs. the Mets

(June 24, 2023) - Zack Wheeler is coming off of two wins and is 6-4 with a 3.48 ERA on the season thus far.  Philadelphia was coming in at -170.

Wheeler blanked the A's for six innings to win Saturday and, before that, held the Diamondbacks to one run over six innings.

The prior start was a no decision despite recording eight strikeouts and being charged with one run (zero earned) over 7 1/3 innings against the Tigers.

The Mets are 47 for 179 against him (.263) with three homers.  Tommy Pham is 4 for 8 and Starling Marte is 6 for 18.

Wheeler has not had a loss since May 22.

Carlos Carrasco is expected to start for the Mets.  He's 2-3 with a 6.34 ERA.

Carrasco gave up six runs (five earned) over three innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

He yielded just two runs in 4 2/3 innings before that.

The Phillies are 9-1 in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing record.

The Mets are 19-7 in the last 26 meetings.
