A controversial poker player and high stakes sports bettor, Sean Perry, tore into fellow pro, Jason Mercier, via Twitter Friday.  He referred to Mercier as "a scumbag" who is engaging in "highly illegal things".  Fellow players have not always had kind words to say about Perry however.

An Ugly War of Words

Perry has been lashing out at Jason Mercier via Twitter Friday.

"NO MORE HIDING!!! you have until 6pm to reach out to me before I make it public about how big of a scumbag you are and what you will do and the measures you will take in order to make money off someone while doing highly illegal things."

"Well @JasonMercier still is being unresponsive. So who wants to hear the story about how he scammed me out of hundreds of thousands if not millions and all the highly illegal things he does."

"Yo @JasonMercier unblock me on everything and reach out to me before I expose you for all the crooked shit you are capable of doing you scum"

"@natasha_mercier. question for you? Will you end up sticking around by your husbands side once his ass is locked up, or will you go find someone else to play the dad role to support the kids??

"And don’t worry @JasonMercier come 6pm if I’m not satisfied on top of me exposing the details of all the criminal actions you take place in…I’m going to film content of me going  to police station reporting your ass to authorities making it headline news!! You scummed the wrong mother fucker."

Confused?

You're not alone.  We're not alone apparently.

Bullshit Detector tweeted out in response to Perry's ranting: "I don't know what's going on but it's getting wild."

Perry Was THAT Guy....

Gambling911.com readers might remember Perry as the individual who refused to split $9.2M Circa Survivor prize.

Here's how that all went down, according to Todd Dewey of the Las Vegas Review Journal:

When the Circa Survivor field was whittled to 13 contestants last week, 12 of them quickly agreed to a partial chop of the $9.2 million pot.

The deal was that each entry would get $400,000, and they would continue to compete for the remaining $4 million. Not bad for a $1,000 buy-in.

But then the Grinch — or, in this case, the entry with the alias “Goldenboy” — stole Christmas.

Sean Perry, a high-stakes gambler and poker player who has almost $7 million in career live tournament earnings, was the final contestant contacted about the chop.

The 27-year-old Las Vegas native replied on X (@itsvegassean) that he was Goldenboy and had no interest in splitting the pot.

“I said, ‘With all respect, I’m the best bettor in the world. There’s no way I’m ever chopping. I wish you guys all the best. I’ll see you at the finish line,’” the fast-talking Perry told me in an interview this week.

Who's the Scammer?

One Redditor claims that poker pro Chance Kornuth called Perry a “scammer” on the PokerGO stream during the World Series of Poker main event.  We can't find this. The big story surrounding Kornuth this week is that he walked away with his 4th WSOP bracelet.

The claim via this Redditor: "I don’t know much about Perry but Chance refused to talk about him while he was commentating. I do find it funny that Perry claims on his twitter bio that he was the #1 poker player in the world in 2021 but what’s his deal?"

Poker pro Dan Coleman alleged a few years back that Perry was "a scammer".  He tweeted out in May of 2021: "PSA to poker community:  It's extremely likely Sean Perry is a scammer.  Do not bet with him."

Legendary gambler Hong Kong Tom Hall described Perry as a “muppet” and as “sharp as a bowling ball” when it comes to his sports betting prowess.

Poker pro Shaun Deeb also said of Perry: “He’s not trustworthy for money. There are some people who have told me stories of Sean stiffing them for over seven figures.”
