2010 WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic…Doyle-less
The iconic poker pro Doyle Brunson busted out of the WPT Five Diamond Doyle Brunson World Poker Classic on Tuesday, a tournament named in his honor. Nothing was supposed to distract Doyle, but apparently something did.
The WPT Five Diamond Doyle Brunson World Poker Classic resumes today at 2pm with Amit Makhija seated in 12th place. Makhija is a member of The Brunson 10, Doyle Brunson’s team of legends-in-the-making.
With five cashes under his belt and WPT career earnings totaling close to $640,000, seeing Makhija at the final table wouldn’t surprise anyone. In combined online poker and live event winnings, Makhija has won nearly $3.7 million playing poker.
While Makhija is the only DoylesRoom.com pro left in the WPT tournament, several members of the DoylesRoom.com pro team have cashed in the event. Doyle Brunson busted out in 18th place, just three spots shy of making it to Day 5. He earned $33,785, joining Hoyt Corkins and Zach Clark on the list of DoylesRoom.com pros to cash in the WPT tournament.
The WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic resumes today at 2pm at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. With 489 entrants, the first place winner stands to earn $870,124.
