Just weeks after wrapping up its phenomenally successful Online Super Series that paid out over $1.3 million, Americas Cardroom is giving poker players what they want in a big way—for a mini price. The online poker site today announced the launch of mOSS II, a $500,000 guaranteed Mini Online Super Series with events starting at just $2+0.20.
"After our wildly successful Online Super Series II that paid out a record $1.3 million, our online poker community has been craving more," said Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "So we've decided to bring mOSS back, the Mini Online Super Series that was a huge success. And in keeping with doing everything bigger and better, mOSS II is going to be massive. There really isn't anything mini about this series except for the buy-ins".
From February 15th through 24th, Americas Cardroom is guaranteeing over $520,000 in 100 events spread out over 10 days. The series includes 90 Hold'em events and 10 Omaha events. The mOSS II scheduled features 10 events each day, running from 10:00am ET through 10:00pm ET.
Guarantees in mOSS II range from $500 all the way up to $100,000. Buy-ins come in as low as $2+0.20, well below the buy-ins of what was required in OSS II, Americas Cardroom's Online Super Series that wrapped up late last month. And judging by how well that tournament was received, mOSS II should have no problem exceeding guarantee expectations.
Americas Cardroom had originally guaranteed $1,088,000 in the series through 82 separate online poker tournaments. But with an overwhelming response to the tournament series, the final total prize pool rocketed to $1,308,702.49. That's an additional $220,000 more than what had been guaranteed.
Online poker players who are looking to get into mOSS II for free can take advantage of a limited-time promotion. Any player who makes a deposit to their Americas Cardroom account in February is automatically entered into a $2,500 freeroll that guarantees 25 seats in themOSS II $100k GTD Main Event. There are three freerolls in all, and depositors will earn seats in all the freerolls that remain after their deposit date. The first freeroll kicks off on February 10th.
