This week marked the 8th consecutive fall in traffic among the worldwide online poker websites, according to PokerScout.com, a site that monitors “real cash” play for most virtual card rooms.

Traffic overall fell 3.5 Percent.   A further drop off can be expected due Easter and Passover occurring this week.

PokerScout.com noted:

The late winter and early spring have been rough for online poker. Traffic is expected to drop with the onset of spring break season, but this year's decline is on the high side of normal. Total player counts have declined 11% since late February, compared to a 5% drop over the same time period last year (before Black Friday).

Elsewhere, the iPoker Network has once again captured the coveted number two ranking among the world’s most trafficked online poker ventures.  It is the first time they have reached that spot since the fall.  PartyPoker had enjoyed a comfortable margin in recent months but now falls to number three.  There is a mere 50 player average separating the two.
