Americas Cardroom Unexpectedly Hands Out $420,000 During Liberty Quarter Million

In addition to the $250,000 that was guaranteed, another $170,000 was handed out at Bad Beat Jackpot tables during Liberty Quarter Million online poker tournament

The anniversary of Black Friday has been nothing short of legendary for online poker players at Americas Cardroom. On Sunday at 7pm, the online poker site marked the anniversary of Black Friday with the Liberty Quarter Million, an online poker tournament with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. And on Monday, shortly after midnight with the Liberty Quarter Million still in play, Americas Cardroom handed out another $170,000 at the Bad Beat Jackpot tables.

“We’ve turned the tables on Black Friday by handing out an incredible amount of cash—way more than we even expected to”, stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. “We’ve had incredible interest in our Liberty Weekends, and the excitement level increased tenfold with another $170,000 added to the mix during the vent. Online poker players can expect more amazing weekends ahead.”

The Liberty Quarter Million was a $250,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em tournament, the signature event in Liberty Weekends, which will see $500,000 guaranteed over five weekends through to the end of April.

A total of 1,096 players came out to play, with the top 153 finishing in the money. CrazyMichael1 conquered the tournament for the $50,000 first place prize. Tyson219 left in second place with $29,000, and Shelooked18 pocketed $20,000 for a third place finish.

But before the tournament even final tabled, another online poker table was about to shower players with big money. At 12:51am, NUTTYNUTS30 flopped quad Jacks and ended up losing to ve6960 straight flush. At any ordinary cash table, it would be considered one of the worst bad beats ever. But losing a monster to an even bigger monster is what players dream about at Americas Cardroom’s Bad Beat Jackpot tables.

NUTTYNUTS303 walked away with $86,077.92 for losing his hand. Ve6960 pocketed $57,373 for dealing the brutal blow. And Pureprofit4, jackHorner, and Sour Sausage each took home $9,566 for participating in the Bad beat Jackpot hand.
