Andrey Zaichenko Leads Record-Breaking EPT Prague Main Event

Russia's Andrey Zaichenko is leading for Day 2 of a record-breaking €5,300 EPT Prague Main Event. He topped today's 750-strong field with 237,600 in chips, a stack that also beats Day 1a chip leader Russian player Dmitry Ponomarev who has 159,800.

A total of 399 players made it through Day 1b today which, combined with yesterday's 201 survivors, means at least 600 players will be here at noon for Day 2.

The total number of players overall stands at 1,092 but players have until the start of Day 2 to buy in. Last season, there were 1,007 players competing in the EPT Prague Main Event creating a €4,883,950 prize pool. Julian Track from Germany won the title and €725,700 first prize.

EPT PRAGUE SMASHES RECORD WITH 228 TOURNAMENT STAFF!
It’s clear from the giant fields we’ve already had that the EPT Prague Poker Festival is going to be one of our biggest ever events. So it’s good news that we came well prepared, with more than140 poker tables and a record 228 tournament staff. However it’s not just the stacked 59-event schedule that is boosting numbers here at the Hilton Prague; we also have more than 35 EPT-run cash game tables operating around the clock in the hotel’s spacious ballroom. Our thanks to all the dealers at EPT Prague who are doing the most amazing job – and thanks to our players for coming!
