BetCRIS.com Punta Cana Poker

A few years back, BetCRIS.com decided to focus its primary attention on the Latin American market.  In fact, they completely exited the North American market all together.

As a result, BetCRIS has become the biggest online gambling website in Latin America that caters to both poker players and sports bettors.

BetCRIS is a major sponsor of the 2011 Punta Cana Poker Classic.  They sent several dozen qualifiers to this event, nearly all from South America and the Dominican Republic.  There was even a 25-cent qualifier who made it into the top 50 cashouts.  We should also note that, unlike Bodog Poker, which sent a bunch of big breasted scantily clad smoking hot pseudo super models to represent their brand, BetCRIS.com doesn’t need to go THAT route.  They just pluck staff from Gambling911.com to show off their products.

Longtime sports bettors and those of us that have been in this industry for over a decade know BetCRIS.com as the “originator” in more ways than one.  They are typically the first to put a line out on North American focused games (yes, those in Latin America, Asia and Europe bet the NFL, basketball and baseball).  They are also the oldest established online gambling website based in North America (Costa Rica is located in North America according to Gambling911.com geographers who have concluded this to be the case).

Some, including the Costa Ricans, will disagree that BetCRIS.com is located in North America.  What we do know is that BetCRIS.com was first established in the Dominican Republic in 1986 as a sports betting call center.  They are 15 years older than PokerStars, which was established in 2001.

BetCRIS.com uses the Yatahay Online Poker Network, which is well represented on Gambling911.com by both America’s Card Room and BetDSI.com Poker.  They endeavored on a major upgrade last spring that has received mostly positive praise.  And, yes, the play is still extremely “soft”.

For those of you living in Latin America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand (another focus market of BetCRIS), Australia, etc… who were burnt by Full Tilt Poker, consider that BetCRIS was around two decades before FTP even got going.

We here at Gambling911.com cannot stress enough how solid a brand BetCRIS.com is.  Check them out here if you haven’t already.
