Celebrities at The 2012 World Series of Poker Include Matt Damon, Brad Garrett, Ben Affleck
The 2012 World Series of Poker is already bringing out big name Hollywood celebrities to play, among them Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Tilly, Brad Garrett, “The Simpsons” co-creator Sam Simon, rapper Nelly and Jason Alexander, just to name a few.
Last year Simon, who was once married to Jennifer Tilly, made it relatively deep in the Main Event ahead of his fellow Hollywood colleagues.
In his live poker career to date, Simon has won over $300,000.
His ex, Tilly, is among the most famous female celebrity players on the circuit today along with Jennifer Harmon and Shannon Elizabeth.
Ultimate Fighting celebrity-announcer Bruce Buffer will also be playing at this year’s WSOP. His lifetime winnings equal to a little over $278,000.
"I played on Monday and again today," he tells ABC News. "I'm here for the week. I've been playing poker since I was 14 and in WSOP since 2005."
Matt Damon’s poker winnings on the live circuit to date total just over $500, but none of that really matters since a big name celeb going deep will most certainly boost ratings for this year’s event, and likely attendance for the years to follow.
Ben Affleck has fared much better. He has won $356,400 lifetime with one 1st place finish.
