Cereus Poker continues to excel just two months after a widely publicized security flaw the company quickly fixed.
This week, Cereus has pushed aside Ongame to become the 5th biggest online poker network globally. The network is home to both UB.com and Absolute Poker, proud Gambling911.com sponsors. Smart marketing and excellent branding visibility can be attributed to the company's steady growth.
More importantly perhaps is that Cereus has a shot at cracking the top 3 by summer's end.
PartyPoker, the world's number three online poker room, has witnessed a decline from just over 5000 real cash players six months ago to around 3700 this past week. It appeared to be in little danger of falling out of that spot for the next two months as the number 4 online poker network, iPoker, also continues to lag somewhat.
Cereus was only 800 real cash players behind the iPoker Network however.
The company also announced plans on Monday to build on its German player base. "Our German players are an increasingly important part of the UB community. This online satellite series is designed to reward them for their loyalty and give them a chance to experience the thrill of competing for thousands of Euros in prize money in a live environment," said Stephan Reschke, UB's Marketing Manager for Germany.
UB's string of $20+2 buy-in (with rebuys) King's Casino Super Satellites is scheduled for Sunday afternoons at 14:00 ET, with satellite feeders running from as low as $3.30. Each week, UB will award the top three finishers in the Super Satellite with a €330+35 seat for the €50,000 GTD NLH Deepstack tournament that takes place every Saturday at 16:00 local time at the King's Casino in Rozvadov in the Czech Republic.
The company said Monday that expansion into Germany is an exciting move for the US-focused online poker site, providing the chance for UB's northern European players to get involved and get rewarded. The land-based Hold ‘em events at King's Casino will also allow UB's German players to meet each other at the tables, rather than just on Chat or across the virtual felt.
