David Baker Leads 2012 ‘Player of the Year’ Race
PokerNews.com has announced that David “ODB” Baker is currently leading as 2012 “Player of the Year”.

Baker’s accomplishments may have gone under the radar a bit at this summer’s World Series of Poker where other climaxes such as Phil Hellmuth grabbing his 12th record bracelet and the unprecedented $18 million One Drop win managed to take center stage.
Baker, however, cashed out at an amazing 9 WSOP events this summer. He won Event number 37, the Eight-Game Mix. His overall take at the World Series of Poker was just shy of $800,000. He finished among the top 10 in 4 of those events.

A player's score is comprised of up to 11 tournament results that begin during the calendar year. Of those 11 results, up to six will come from Jan. 1 through June 30, and up to five will be from tournaments starting between July 1 and Dec. 31. As the only player with four qualifying scores for the second half of the year (thus far), David "ODB" Baker is currently leading the race. Like the Global Poker Index Rankings, all tournaments must have a buy-in of at least $1,500 and contain at least 21 entrants to be eligible in comprising a player's score.
