Doyle Brunson Busts Out of 2012 WSOP, Ryan Eriquezzo Wins National Championship

78-year-old poker icon Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson busted out of the World Series of Poker Main Event Wednesday afternoon.  He had initially considered not entering this year’s event but changed his mind in the last minute.

Poker pro Jason Somerville led the pack going into Wednesday afternoon with 550,000 in chips.  He made headlines earlier this year by publicly acknowledging he was gay.

Elsewhere, Bossier City, Louisiana resident Ryan Eriquezzo has been crowned this year’s National Championship winner.

This invitation-only gold bracelet event was comprised of the top 100 qualifying players from the 17-tour stops held between September 2011 and May 2012 around the United States.  The WSOP Circuit's top players were joined by 57 of the best WSOP qualifiers, determined by their point ranking over the past two years in gold bracelet events.

Eriquezzo walked away with a gold bracelet and $416,051 in prize money.
