Doyle Brunson Enters 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event
The Texas Dolly has had a change of heart and decided to enter the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event after all.
Doyle Brunson had tweeted earlier:
I'm having second thoughts about playing the main event. I'm pretty tired after all this playing but it's such a great event! 3 hours left.
WSOP organizers were expecting a record turnout for Day 1c, the final day in which to register.
The 78-year-old Poker Hall of Famer is such an icon that WSOP organizers had to give him a special “shout out” for entering.
Welcome @TexDolly to the WSOP Main Event...this is what you've created. Great to have you a part of it this year.
Brunson has 10 World Series of Poker bracelets. He is the first two-time consecutive WSOP Main Event winner. His two cashes at the time totaled just shy of $600,000 compared to the possible $8 to $10 million that will be awarded this year.
With over 3000 early entrants, the total number participating in this year’s WSOP Main Event could exceed 7000.
