The transition from online poker to live poker is an interesting one. It may be the same game, but it’s an entirely different beast. Many people in the online poker community would be familiar with the name Dylan Honeyman, or better yet, by his screen name “WhiteRabbito”. In the live poker world however, Honeyman is virtually unknown. That changed today.

The event was the $1,650 No Limit Holdem Bounty Event and Honeyman was able to survive a field of 355 entrants, a shootout table and then the final table to grab his first live poker title.

To get there Honeyman had to get past some talented players including Aussie young gun Will Jones, veteran Julius Colman, the red-hot Fabian Craib and American Frank Rusnak who has 16 WSOP cashes as part of an impressive poker record.  In the end, Honeyman had to also overcome a chip deficit against the aggressive Tam Truong.

It was a tight contest but two key hands swung it in favour of Honeyman. The first saw Truong check-raise the river with trip fours, only to discover Honeyman already had a full house. That switched the lead, before the second key hand which was also the final one of the tournament.  Honeyman flopped a flush holding 7c-6c and was able to induce an all-in bet from Truong when he was drawing dead with just top pair.

Honeyman collected $120,000 in prize money, and more importantly, the live result that was missing from his poker resume.
