Eric Baldwin Wins Over $1 million at WPT World Championship
Team UB is on a roll. Days after Liv Boeree finished first in the EPT San Remo poker tournament, Eric Baldwin added another $1 million to his 2010 earnings with a second place finish at the WPT World Championship at Bellagio last weekend. Phil Hellmuth, Team UB's most recognizable pro, came close to final tabling the Main Event. He walked away with $152,856 for a seventh place finish.
The WPT Championship Main Event marks Baldwin's third WPT cash within two weeks. On April 9th, the Team UB pro finished second in Event #10 to win $12,125 in a $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament. Less than a week later, Baldwin cashed for another $20,793 with a 6th place finish in Event #18.
Baldwin has built a reputation as one of the most competitive poker players to ever play the game - online and off. In 2009, he was crowned Player of the Year by Card Player. One look at his list of poker achievements reveals why.
Last year, Baldwin finished first in Event #15 of the 2009 Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio, securing $256,600 for his win. Other notable first place finishes in 2009 include a $10,686 win in Event #9 of the 2009 Caesars Palace Classic, a $198,933 win in Event #24 of the 2009 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza II, and a $521,932 win at the 2009 World Series of Poker.
To date, Baldwin has earned $3.7 million playing poker. Online poker players at UB.com can employ the online poker site's free UltimateBuddy feature to discover where Eric Baldwin is playing.
