Gus Hansen Ignites Firestorm With Daniel Negreanu, Howard Lederer Tweet

Denmark poker pro Gus Hansen tweeted the day after Christmas:

"@RealGusHansen: Do people hate Howard Lederer because of evidence of foul play or because Daniel Negreanu and Jason Mercier tells everybody to hate him?"

Lederer recently settled a civil complaint with the US Government after they accused him of running an elaborate ponzi scheme connected to Full Tilt Poker.  Fellow poker pro Daniel Negreanu has routinely demonstrated his dislike for Lederer and his sister Annie Duke long before the civil complaint was ever filed. 

Negreanu has yet to respond to Hansen’s tweet nor has the Dane followed up on Twitter.   But the response has been exceptional within the popular TwoPlusTwo.com community.

One member of the forum wrote:

If your a poker player why would you like him ? even if you work in the poker industry, their is no reason to like him at all for what he has done, him and his corupt GANG!!!THE word SCUM comes to mind!!!

Although I don't agree with Gus, I understand why people hate on Howard, but, just don't think theres much more to it at this point. Howard did what he did, it can't be taken back and he no longer is in the position to do anything to make it better. It's up to PStars/DOJ to get this sorted out now.

Hansen had previously tweeted: 

If the 'We hate Howard Lederer' group would hate on banks and insurance companies, I would have some sympathy- as it is- get a fu**ing grip!
