Heartland Poker Tour Expands California Tour With Agua Caliente Event
Rancho Mirage, CA – Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) is expanding to Southern California in 2014 after three successful 2013 stops in the Golden State. Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa near Palm Springs, California will play host to HPT for a 10-day series starting on February 27, 2014, with the crowning of a new HPT champion at a nationally-televised Final Table on March 10.
HPT expanded into California in late 2013 and changed the lives of Kris Tong and Michael Rosenbach. Tong won $165k, while Rosenbach walked away with $180K. Hundreds of other players scored substantial prize money in the series of events. In total, over $2 million was awarded in California.
“We are thrilled at this opportunity for poker players to experience our world-class resort by hosting HPT,” said C.J. Graham, General Manager of Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa.
HPT’s newest tour stop features a 20-table poker room, along with nearly 1,400 of the latest slots and many styles of table games. The four-diamond resort property also includes a 340-room hotel with a full-service spa. Players will enjoy many popular dining options at Agua Caliente, including an award-winning restaurant, The Steakhouse.
HPT has awarded over $50 million to poker enthusiasts since humble beginnings in 2005. HPT now televises more tournaments in the world than any other tour, bringing a full production set to each stop. Two one-hour episodes will be filmed at Agua Caliente and syndicated to over 100 million homes throughout the United States, in addition to widespread distribution throughout Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
