Heartland Poker Tour Returns to Kansas City

Kansas City, Mo. - Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) is returning to Kansas City for another 10-day poker series next month. The tour stop will conclude with a nationally-televised Final Table which will play out in front of a live studio audience March 23.

Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City first hosted HPT during the spring of 2014. Poker enthusiasts in the area had been asking for a series in their backyard for years and when they finally got one, they did not disappoint. More than 400 players made their way to the tables for the Main Event at that stop, building a prize pool of more than $600,000 dollars. In the end, Missouri native Quentin Crossley came out on top, earning $143,143 for his efforts.

HPT is fresh off its most successful year to date. In 2014, the tour visited 15 different venues coast to coast for a total of 24 stops. Throughout the year, more than $12 million in Main Event money was awarded. HPT is available in more than 110 million homes nationwide and airs more new episodes than any other poker tour in the world.

The upcoming series at Ameristar Kansas City features a variety of different tournaments with buy-ins starting as low as $50. Other highlighted events include a No Limit Hold 'Em event for senior adults (50+) and a Pot Limit Omaha tournament. The pinnacle of the series will be the Main Event, which has three starting flights slated for the weekend of March 20.

The property at Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City features the largest casino and gaming selection in the city as well as one of the largest poker rooms in the Midwest. In addition to its six dining options and 18-screen movie theater, Ameristar Kansas City has 184 full-service luxury hotel rooms. Special room rates have been made available for the HPT series. To book at those exclusive prices, guests should call 866-667-3386 and mention code 'HPTAKC'.

Players flying in for the event will be pleased to hear that the venue is just a short drive from MCI international airport. Those commuters travelling by car will find that Ameristar Kansas City is conveniently located at the intersection of four major interstates.

Those interested in taking a shot at poker fame and fortune can register for each event of the March 13-23 series when they arrive on property. For more information including a full look at the schedule of events at Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City, visit HPTpoker.com.
