Duhamel followed up his 4th place finish at the Super High Roller tournament with a win at the in the $5,000 buy-in No-Limit 8-Max side event this week.  The High Roller event netted $313,600 while the No-Limit-8-Max resulted in a $239,830 top prize.

It was just a few weeks ago that Duhamel, the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event winner, ended up in the hospital after suffering a beating during a home invasion robbery allegedly orchestrated by his ex-girl friend, Bianca Rojas-Latraverse.  She and another individual were denied bail on Tuesday and must remain behind bars until their respective trials.

During the attack, which occurred in the Montreal suburb of Boucherville, the robbers ordered Duhamel to open a safe.  They removed a substantial amount of cash and made off with his Rolex watch and prized diamond-encrusted WSOP bracelet.

Duhamel was the first Canadian poker player to ever win a World Series of Poker Main Event.
