Isildur1 Crushes Durrrr, Ziigmund and Townsend
Every once in a while, a person or event comes along and just dominates headlines. On these occasions, while some people may be weary of that particular subject, there is just no denying that it is newsworthy and must be treated as such. During times of fiscal crisis, dominating headlines will be stories of excess and spending and plans for renewal. During the playoffs of any major sports, the headlines are dominated by the participants and anyone remotely effected by the outcomes.
In online poker, right now, the story is Isildur1. Partly fueled by his continued anonymity, but mostly because of the incredible action that follows his every move, this unknown player continues to put himself in the forefront.
Within the first 2 weeks of November, he profited over $6 million, only to pilfer it away and finish the month a half million in the hole. This left many wondering if he would simply disappear as quickly as he arrived. That was before the last 48 hours.
Within the past 2 days, Isildur1 absolutely annihilated everyone in his path, crushing opponents such as Tom Dwan, Ziigmund and Brian Townsend to the tune of $3.1 million. It began quietly enough playing $100/$200 PLO where we challenged Brian Townsend to play heads up for higher stakes. The two battled it out for about 1,500 hands and when it was over, Townsend had dropped more than three-quarters of a million dollars.
Up next was Durrrr, the embattled online pro who is on a major downswing. In a 4,000 hand session on a couple of tables, Isildur swiped over $600K from Dwan, leaving Dwan reeling anymore. Really, how big is this guy's bankroll?
Lastly was Ziigmund and Isildur1 saved the best for him. This was an absolute bloodbath with Ziigmund losing an astonishing $1.6 million, all while losing the 5 largest pots contested between the two.
We definitely haven't seen the last of Isildur1. But the question still remains. Who is this person?
