Americas Cardroom today announced five separate Million Dollar Sunday tournaments are now on the schedule throughout September and October.
The September 13th tournament will be followed by a $1 million guaranteed tournament every Sunday in October.
“The $5 Million Bonanza kicks off on September 13th with our 4th Million Dollar Sunday. But rather than waiting another month or two for another $1 million tourney, we're stacking them back-to-back-to-back-to-back,” said Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. “You'll find a Million Dollar Sunday tournament every weekend in October, specifically the 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th. This is huge.”
The Million Dollar Sunday is Americas Cardroom's signature tournament that runs throughout the year. The US-facing online poker site first introduced the frequent $1 million online poker tournament earlier this year to much fanfare. It had been nearly four years since US poker players saw a Sunday million dollar poker tournament. Thanks to Americas Cardroom's huge popularity in the United States, the online poker site was able to return to the glory days of poker.
While not quite a weekly tournament, Americas Cardroom has hosted several successful Million Dollar Sundays throughout the year. But players who missed cashing in on one Million Dollar Sunday tournament were forced to wait months for the next to roll around.
However, with a Million Dollar Sunday tournament running every Sunday in October, plus one that precedes it in September, there's opportunity after opportunity to become a champion.
Noted Harris, "Theoretically, it's possible for someone to become a millionaire this fall. With $200,000 guaranteed for first place and five separate Million Dollar Sunday tournaments running throughout September and October, that's $1 million in first place prize money. Of course, we'd love to see multiple winners, and given the fact that our poker community is growing immensely, that's more than likely."
