The Dream Team Poker tournament is taking place in Las Vegas this weekend and it's a concept that many believe will become the next big thing in poker.

Players come together as teams and will duke it out at the Caesar's Hotel.

Founded in 2007, this is the first public Dream Team Poker Tournament.  The favorites are 11 time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, Phil Hellmuth, and his team, which consists of Los Angeles Lakers owner, Jerry Busse.

170 teams of three will compete for an estimated share of the $250,000 prize pool.

"Unfortunately Gambling911.com will not be represented at this year's Dream Team Poker, though we expect to participate next year," said Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the website.

Gambling911.com has two "poker pros" that will typically represent the site:  Jenny Woo and Bones McCoy (a writer for the 1800-Sports.com site).

Resident Cuban transgender reporter, Sparky Collins, is being taught how to play so the three can compete next year.

"The rest of our group doesn't know a hole card from a whole card," said O'Brien, referring to a popular joke among the online poker community related to an article once published on the Gambling911.com website.

Woo was unavailable as she is currently attending the online casino affiliate event, CAC2009, in Amsterdam.

Friends of Gambling911.com who will be competing include Bluff Magazine and Wicked Chops Poker.
