Six days from today, poker players from across America and around the world will step into The Cage at Americas Cardroom to make history in one of the biggest, most innovative online poker cash games of all time. If the competition for the $5,000 tournament wasn't already fierce, today's announcement will turn things on its head. Americas Cardroom today confirmed that The Cage has reached the $100,000 mark thanks to a schedule of frequent satellites that run as low as $5.

"We've always known Americas Cardroom players were fiercely competitive," stated Michael Harris, spokesperson for Americas Cardroom. "But to see The Cage fill up with so many players intent on doing extreme damage on the felt is proof that we've got a thriving community of serious grinders."

The Cage is Americas Cardroom's groundbreaking cash game, set to get underway on October 8th. Players who register for the $5,000+$100 cash game will step into The Cage with 5,000 in starting chips, in real cash.

The goal of The Cage is to not just survive, but conquer. Players will have exactly 3 hours to dropkick their way to victory, and each hour the blinds and antes increase. While The Cage is considered a cash game, Americas Cardroom is making things more interesting by structuring it in a way that's similar to a tournament. The Cage features three levels: Hour 1 with $10/$20 blinds and $2 antes; Hour 2 with $25/$50 blinds and $5 antes; and Hour 3, with $50/$100 blinds and $10 antes.

At the end of level 3, each surviving player will be awarded cash for their chip stack. A player holding 35,000 in chips will receive $35,000 in cash, credited to their account.

The last chance satellite will be held on Tuesday October 7th at 7:30pm ET. The event guarantees at least 2 seats valued at $5,100 each. The buy-in is $300+$20 and there are multiple qualifiers running to earn a spot in the "last chance".

Throughout the event ACR will be posting live updates via social media such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter and "The Big Blind" ACR's new blog. Updates will include the breakdown of key hands, player profiles, and chip counts.

When Americas Cardroom first announced The Cage, many industry experts balked at the $5,000+$100 buy-in. However, Americas Cardroom has put together a satellite schedule to help players secure a seat for as little as $1.65. Today's announcement that The Cage has reached the $100,000 mark is proof that players are truly excited about this revolutionary cash game concept.

$1 Million Guaranteed Tournament

Following The Cage, Americas Cardroom will be setting up the stage for a tournament that could change the poker landscape in the US. Winning Millions is a Texas Hold'em tournament featuring a $1 Million guaranteed prize pool, set to begin on December 14th, 2014. Poker players can buy directly in for $500+$40 or win their spot through a satellite.
