Man Gets Three Year Sentence for Biting Off Ear During Poker Brawl
James Salisbury, 27, has been jailed for three years after biting off a portion of another man’s ear during a heated brawl at an Ipswich Conservative Club poker game this past January.
The victim, Robert Reed, exited the game for a cigarette when he was approached by Salisbury, who then punched him to the floor, pinned Reed down and proceeded to bite off his ear.
Salisbury was said to have been extremely inebriated at the time.
Judge Rupert Overbury said during the sentencing:
"Unfortunately when you have too much to drink you behave aggressively. Your attack on Mr Reed was unprovoked and extremely violent. Every time he looks in the mirror he will be reminded of that evening.”
