The buy-in for this event is a whopping HKD$1,000,000.  Officials were anticipating around 25 to 30 players to post the HKD$1 million entry fee, making for one of the largest prize pools ever with one of the smallest player pools assembled.

Jeff Mann, CEO of the APT issued this statement:  “The Asian Poker Tour and Resorts World Manila are going to make poker history once again and this time it’s by staging Asia’s biggest super high roller event.  A buy-in of this magnitude will put the Philippines on the world poker map and the APT is excited to once again be working with Resorts World Manila to make it all possible."

April 2012 will feature a handful of top tournaments including the Asian Poker Tour Philippines Main Event, which begins the day after the Super High Roller tournament.  Care to guess which one of these will garner the most attention?

One day after the start of the APT Philippines Main Event, the popular PartyPoker Pokerfest Event kicks off and lasts through May 6.

This coming weekend (April 15), one of the most anticipated online poker tournaments will take place with the celebratory “Black Friday” one-year anniversary $250,000 Guaranteed event a la Americas Cardroom
