Merge Poker US market

PokerUpdate.com is reporting that the Merge Poker Network will once again start accepting new players from the US with the exception of certain states such as New York and Maryland as early as Midnight October 12.

The site claims to have sources close to the company who confirmed the time while noting that “some details are still unconfirmed”.   Gambling911.com has not independently confirmed these details.

The Merge Poker Network, which is home to a few dozen online poker rooms, stopped accepting new US signups on June 1.  The company claimed it was not in a position to meet the influx of poker players coming from PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and UB.com after they were forced to leave the US market on April 15.  Over the summer, Merge has worked diligently to develop a more solid payment processing platform while boosting staff.

The online poker network had to delay its move back into the US market after a nasty smear campaign (since debunked by Gambling911.com) hampered such efforts last month.

While we hope the story is true, it should be noted that rumors of a move back into the US market have been prevalent throughout the last couple of months.  This is among the most detailed notices, however.
