Many in the online poker community are anxiously awaiting news on the Merge Poker Network’s huge software upgrade.

Some are saying the new software will be comparable to that of PokerStars during the year 2008, and anyone who knows the Star software understands that their 2008 platform was far more superior than just about anything that is on the market today.

An exact timeline regarding the new software upgrade has not been specified as Merge’s primary focus has been on adapting to the limited availability of adequate payment solutions versus the higher level of demand/customer acquisitions.

Merge witnessed a dramatic triple digit percentage increase in business following the April 15 exits of Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and UB.com from the US market.  It was forced to leave the US market temporarily in an effort to find ways of better handling the massive influx of new players.

Merge is expected to re-enter the US market in the coming weeks.  Existing US customers can still play there for real money.
