MicroMillions II Returns to PokerStars: $5 Million Guaranteed
PokerStars today announced $5 million in guaranteed prize pools for the second instalment of its ultra low-stakes online tournament series, MicroMillions II. The online poker festival will take place from July 12-22 and features very affordable buy-ins from just 11 cents up to $22 across 100 tournaments.
The series will culminate in a $1 million guaranteed No Limit Hold’em Main Event on Sunday, July 22 at 14.30 ET (20.30 CET) that features a $22 buy-in with a guaranteed minimum of $150,000 for first place.
MicroMillions II is designed for recreational and micro stakes players, but the guaranteed prizes are large enough to attract players from all levels. In the first MicroMillions festival, which took place in March, Team PokerStars Pro Marcin ‘Goral’ Horecki, from Poland, topped the Player of the Series leaderboard, having cashed in 34 of the 89 events he played. His first-place finish on the leaderboard meant he also scooped a 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure package worth $15,000.
“It’s a fantastic series for players of all levels,” said Horecki. “Last time I tried to play as many events as possible and it turned out to be a great move for me. The very affordable buy-in levels are perfect for micro-stakes players who dream of winning a huge prize but often don’t have the chance.”
