Moore Games Accuses Playtech ‘s iPoker Network of Holding Funds, Not Paying Players

Playtech and its iPoker Network arm went on the defensive this week, denying claims made by its former Swedish poker skin Moore Games, that they are the one’s holding player funds.

“Playtech/iPoker NEVER holds players’ funds on its side,” stated Roei Gavish, Head of Poker at Playtech, in a statement to pokerfuse. “Payment systems are in the licensee’s domain. We’re making the efforts to audit our partners and ensure that players’ funds are safe, but it’s not in our direct possession.”

Gavish added that Moore Games contract was suspended “due to material breach of the network policy.”

Moore Games claims not to have the ability to pay players on the poker side while stating casino customers do have the ability to cash out.

Moore Games CEO Samir Mujagic earlier this week told Pokerfuse.com:  “Playtech holds the players funds” and that “We never broke Playtech’s T&Cs.”

Moore Games is one of a handful of European Web cardrooms that have either been cut off from their network or shut down completely. 

In June, 5050Poker was cut off from the Microgaming Network for failing to abide by its breach of terms, according to Microgaming while 5050Poker claims the network acted discriminatory, allowing other skins to engage in acts it cited as part of the contract termination. 

Also in recent months, Purple Lounge Poker shut its doors and is yet to pay back customers.
