A recent New York City bust tied to illegal sports betting and high stakes poker games led to the indictment of a prominent art dealer, a so-called “Princess of Poker” and an individual said to be a major figure in Russian organized crime.

That reputed Russian crime figure, Illya Trincher, has a strong working relationship with one Marc Lasrey

And just who is Marc Lasrey you might ask?

From 4Flush.com:

Lasry’s name has been in the headlines due to his association with President Barack Obama, and more so because he was appointed by (President) Obama to be the US Ambassador to France.
Lasry runs Avenue Capital; an investment firm located in Manhattan and was in the running for the ambassador position. According to the New York Post, Lasry withdrew from earning the position after his association with Illya Trincher was revealed.

Lasrey helped the President raise nearly $1 million for his re-election campaign.
