Online Poker Tournament Structures

New online poker tournament structures have been announced at America’s Card Room.

The online poker site that's synonymous with giving US players the liberty to play the game they love is adding more freedom to the equation. Americas Cardroom (online at AmericasCardroom.com) announced today the launch of time-based tournaments and hand-based tournaments, two new tournament types that offer players with tight schedules the opportunity to win quickly.

The new tournament types are perfect for players who don't have the patience to sit through hours of hands, or for those on a tight schedule with a limited window in their day to play an online poker tournament.

While regular Texas Hold'em tournaments play out until only one player is left standing in order to determine the prize pool distribution, time-based tournaments at AmericasCardroom.com end after a designated period of time, regardless of how many players remain.

When the clock runs out, players are paid out according to their rank. Just like in ordinary tournaments, a player's rank is determined by how many chips they have.

Hand-based tournaments, also new to Americas Cardroom, work just like time-based tournaments. However, instead of ending after a designated amount of time, the tournament ends after a predetermined number of hands.

Time-based tournaments launch at Americas Cardroom with a 15 and 30-minute clock, and hand-based tournaments are available in a 60-hand format. More information is available at America’s Card Room.
