Does Party Poker know something we don't?  Perhaps this is the case as the large gaming company announced that they have reached an agreement with World Poker Tour announcer, and ambassador of the game of poker, Mike Sexton, to represent the site in a marketing deal.  The move is the first major move since the company had reached a settlement with the United States government to pay a fine for retroactive charges dealing with the UIGEA.

Before the UIGEA, Sexton was regarded as the superstar of the former online giant and was thought of their top poker professional.  Following the passage of the UIGEA, Sexton stepped down as the most recognizable face of the site and essentially left his PartyPoker gear at the door.  This month's settlement, and the anticipation of Barney Frank's new gaming bill may be changing all of that.  The official statement disclosed that the popular poker figure would again represent PartyGaming as a host, consultant, ambassador, blogger, and player for the company.

In response, Sexton issued the following statement:

"Partypoker.com has always had a place in my heart and is special to me. I am delighted to pen a new deal; it means so much to me," said Sexton. "I look forward to representing them in events around the world and meeting the online package winners at the WSOP."

Sexton plans on wearing PartyGaming apparel at this year's World Series of poker. PartyGaming officials share Sexton's enthusiasm about re-enlisting him by saying,

"We are truly delighted to renew our association with Mike Sexton," he said. "Poker wouldn't be as popular as it is today if it wasn't for Mike Sexton."
