Performa 11 Performance Art Festival to Feature 7 Days Straight Strip Poker Show (Video)
Forget the argument as to whether poker is a game of chance or skill, now it’s becoming an art form.
Participants in the Performa 11 performance art festival in the Tribeca section of New York City are taking part in the voyeuristic “I’ll Raise You One...,” a continuous strip poker session that Kicked off on November 12 and goes on for 7 days.
The event comes to us courtesy of one Zefrey Throwell, who generated a great deal of buzz back in August with his “Ocularpation: Wall Street”, featuring close to 50 people in various forms of dress and undress on Wall Street taking on roles of hot dog vendors, janitors, dog walkers and stock traders.
Throwell’s strip poker shows will take place in street galleries, which are sure to attract plenty of gawkers.
“At the end of each round, the players will get dressed and begin again, creating a meditative repetitious action that continues over the course of a workday.” Throwell is one of the players. The games start at 10:30 a.m. each morning, and conclude at 6 p.m.
