Viktor Blom Leads The Poker Players Championship

Phil Hellmuth, looking for his 13th record World Series of Poker bracelet, can’t be feeling too confident entering today’s Poker Players Championship.

Out of 26 players, he is number 26 in the chip count.

Hellmuth tweeted soon after the event ended for the day Tuesday:

I'm in my car in the Rio parking lot crying. Blessings all around me, BUT all I can see right now is that "I deserved better today..."

I played like the 12-time World Champion that I am today. The deck brutalized me, BUT I NEVER lost focus! 26 left, I have 28K, ave 633K

Phil Ivey is only in slightly better shape in 19th place.

Online poker phenom, Sweden’s Viktor “Isildur1” Blom was the chip leader coming into Wednesday’s play.

So we basically have the “new” and one of the youngest players at the top of the heap with the “old” establishment player at the opposite end of the spectrum.
