Phil Hellmuth Win His Record 14th World Series of Poker Bracelet
As of Monday evening, the master Phil Hellmuth was among the remaining six still in the $10,000 Razz Championship. And yes, Hellmuth does walk away with his record 14th WSOP bracelet.
Hellmuth was leading the pack with chips shortly after 9 pm EST and found himself in a familar spot around Midnight Eastern Time in second place. In recent years he has finished a handful of WSOP events in second place. He was finishing off head-to-head against Mike Gorodinsky.
103 people took part in this event with a final payout slated to be $271,105.
“I have to find a way to win,” Hellmuth said entering Monday’s final round.
"I felt like yesterday I hit my stride," Hellmuth told PokerNews.com upon the completion of Day 2. "Yesterday in the razz I felt like I was playing brilliant razz. I was so happy. I just wasn't hitting anything, you know, but I think because I played brilliant razz I made it to the end of the day. Because of that I came here today and I started to catch some cards."
