The poker community is mourning the deaths of two young poker stars Friday.

Jason “Clozer” Kapoor died at the age of 29 after committing suicide. He was a well-known player from both the Michigan poker community and the Midwest circuit.

By all accounts, Kapoor's life was not an easy one going all the way back to childhood.

From PokerNews.com:

Born December 21, 1994, Kapoor left home when he was just 14 years old and worked 70 hours a week at a Dunkin Donuts during his teenage years. He began selling cars before eventually turning to poker full-time in 2019. Originally from Michigan, Kapoor had relocated and built a home in Thailand at the end of 2022, often sharing pictures and videos of his adventures on social media.

Kapoor had $153,355 in lifetime earnings according to The Hendon Mob but was primarily known as an online player.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old woman dubbed Russia’s “most beautiful poker player”, was found dead from a suspected massive electric shock in her bathroom.

Liliya Novikova had been alone at home and her body was discovered on the floor of her bathroom in Moscow.

Novikova had amassed around $100,000 on the live poker circuit according to the Hendon Mob database.
